Welcome to the BCA Photo group
The purpose of the Bedford Center for the Arts Photography Group is to provide a welcoming community that fosters the artistic and technical growth of its members in a non-competitive environment. We do this through diverse, stimulating program content and through mutual support by sharing of the rich body of expertise residing in the group. The group emphasizes education and image sharing and welcomes all levels of expertise.
Please consider attending one of our upcoming meetings; guests are welcome.
The BCA Photo Group primarily meets on Zoom. We do have occasional in person meetings. Meeting links are sent to the BCA member email list. We record most of our online meetings and the recordings are available to members.
Never been to a BCA meeting and would like to sit in? Guests are welcome to attend two meetings, and then should join the group if they wish to continue. If you would like to attend a meeting use our Contact Form and select Guest Attendee under Inquiry Type.

About Us
The BCA Photo Group is comprised of individuals from communities in eastern Massachusetts who range from novice to professional photographers, with over 90 members. Our goal is to share, mentor, and learn. We are a totally non-competitive group and operate under the assumption that we have different backgrounds, interests, and expertise while we all strive to improve. We welcome new members and hope that you will feel free to ask any questions you may have.
We meet twice a month from September through June on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month*. Meetings run from 7 to 9pm. A current schedule of all activities is available on our events calendar.
Meeting types fall into three general categories, with generous crossover:
General photography presentations tend toward the artistic, journalistic, or expressive side of photography.
For the image sharing sessions, outside professionals offer constructive critique of images submitted by group members.
Technical presentations focus on 2 areas:
particular photographic genres such as night, landscape, sport, concert, wildlife, … ;
topics like RAW images, camera settings, focusing methods, software (e.g. Lightroom and Photoshop), time lapse photography, image workflow, use of flash, printing, … .
Our presenters include internationally known photographers, professional photo educators, and BCA members with particular areas of expertise. Whether you are a beginner or advanced photographer, there is always something to take away from these meetings to learn, and to improve your own work.
Most of our meetings are recorded and we have a library of over 50 meetings that are viewable as a benefit of membership.
Guests are welcome for two meetings at no cost. For those who would like to attend on a regular basis and participate in members-only activities our dues are $60/year, January – December, $30 if joining in September on. JOIN THE BCA!
